A recent study suggests that consuming a daily spoonful of olive oil may lower the risk of dying from dementia. The study, conducted by Harvard scientists, observed over 92,000 adults for 28 years. Participants who consumed at least 7 grams of olive oil daily had a 28% lower risk of dementia-related death compared to those who rarely consumed it. The study also found that replacing margarine or mayonnaise with olive oil was associated with a lower risk of death from dementia. While the study doesn’t prove causation, it highlights the potential benefits of olive oil for brain health.
